I usually have a Thursday night commitment, but this week, I decided it was time to skip that and to FINALLY check out Fort Wayne SOUP. I was blessed enough to have my generous and community-minded mom accompany me.

Held at The Summit, Fort Wayne SOUP provides an opportunity for folks to share their ideas on how to make the community a better place while asking for the crowd's votes, which if receiving the most, will in turn give them a check at the end of the night. Last night's recipient ended up with over $1100 from the ticket sales of the event!

All of the presenters had well put-together speeches informing the audience of their organization, what the dollars won would be used for, and some added their personal stories which pulled at the heartstrings of the voters. In the end, it was a tough decision for my mom and I. The winner of last night's funds was Monarchs & Milkweed. We would highly recommend going to a Fort Wayne SOUP event in the future to not only be inspired by the ideas from passionate and motivated people in our community, but to also network with other like-minded people, and enjoy a nice simple meal in a different type of venue.
